The OSCPA Strategic Leadership Forum is an enjoyable opportunity for OSCPA Volunteer Leaders and Rising Stars to come together to expand their leadership skills and extend their professional connections. Attendees will also receive the latest updates on current issues impacting the accounting profession. This course may be appropriate to meet the biennial CPE requirements to continue on the Municipal Roster.  The course will use the AICPA Audit and Accounting Guide for State and Local Governments as the source material. Participants will be expected to have a copy of the guide to use during the training. Additionally, you will learn about Public Law 86-272, cloud computing, reporting an RAR, IRS & state communications, unclaimed property, state updates, City of Portland, Multnomah County & Metro and Oregon, California, and Washington.This is a companion to the four-hour "Oregon and State & Local Taxation - The Basics" program and may be taken in conjunction with or as an independent program.

This course provides an update and review of the financial reporting frameworks commonly used by small- and medium-sized entities (SMEs); namely, the U.S. GAAP Financial Reporting Framework principles that apply to SMEs, the tax and cash special purpose frameworks, and the AICPA Financial Reporting Framework for SMEs. Troublesome areas in these financial reporting frameworks as identified in peer reviews and litigation will be highlighted.

This course will enable practitioners to understand and apply the AICPA "clarification" auditing standards and the new SAS 145 risk assessment requirements.
