Property Value Appeals Board

This board presides over hearings in which property owners present evidence to change their property value. Your role as a board member would be to hear each case, review the evidence presented, then determine if the current value is appropriate or if it should be reduced.

The board will be active between February and mid-April of 2027. You may volunteer anywhere between 1 to 5 days per week and there is a per diem to compensate you for your time. Half days are available in the mornings or afternoons, as we understand that many of our volunteers are working professionals.

We appreciate volunteers with experience in real estate, appraisal, property taxes, and other related fields; however, we also value individuals who do not have these backgrounds but have an inclination to serve their local community. This is an excellent opportunity for people wanting educational or service experience.
