Board Treasurer

Bienestar is a community based affordable housing organization that works primarily in Washington County, Oregon. Our mission is to build housing, hope and community for the well-being of Latinxs, immigrants and all families in need.

In recent years, Bienestar has grown significantly, embraced innovation, and increased our impact in the community. With new projects in our housing development pipeline, a community that needs housing and services, and opportunities abounding, Bienestar is poised to become the premier Community Development Corporation serving Latinos and immigrants in Oregon.  We are on the move, making a difference every day the lives of our community, working hard, and having fun while we do it – we hope you will join us!

Bienestar seeks a new Board Treasurer to help us move our mission forward and effectively govern the organization. The ideal candidate will have a background in finance, experience with real estate or housing development, and a desire to support Bienestar’s mission and work in the community.

The Treasurer is an Officer of the Bienestar Board of Directors and attends regular board meetings (6 per year), special board meetings, as well as monthly Finance and Executive Committee meetings. The Treasurer is the Chief Financial Officer of the Board of Directors and helps guide staff and board in the following areas:

1. Fiscal policies and internal controls
2. Annual budgeting
3. Review of monthly financial statements
4. Support of annual audit process
5. Risk mitigation
6. Strategic planning

The organization also encourages Board members to serve as ambassadors of the organization to their networks and participate in social and fundraising events.
