Treasurer

We are looking for a Treasurer to fill out our Board duties. We are a civic-minded group of volunteers, with a great Board of Directors, and all of us enjoy sharing our musical talents with our community.

Duties currently include the following:

General Role

• Manages the Board’s financial responsibilities.
• May work directly with a bookkeeper or other staff in developing and implementing financial procedures and systems.
• Works with the President and Board to ensure the Board takes appropriate action on financial matters.
• Chairs the Finance Committee and prepares agendas for meetings, including a year-long task timeline of critical planning and decision points.
• Oversees budgeting process.
• Oversees cash receipts and disbursement processes performed by different individual.
• Oversees bank reconciliations performed by a different individual.

Specific Responsibilities

Financial Reporting:

• Ensures that appropriate financial reports are prepared and made available to the Board timely and in ways that Board members can easily understand.
• Records cash receipts and disbursements into Quickbooks.
• Regularly reports to Board on key financial trends and concerns, including concert attendance.
• Provides periodic financial statements after each concert cycle, including balance sheet, budget to actual, and comparative income statement by class code.

Compliance Reporting

• Completes year-end tax filings (1099, 1096, 990, CT12)
• Completes donor acknowledgment letters
• Provides updated donor list to development committee and to person responsible for concert programs
• Assists with special reports needed for grant writing and reporting
• If payroll is being paid, ensure all payroll reports are timely filed.
