Josh Sprecher Wins the Becker CPA Exam Review Scholarship
July 01, 2026
Josh Sprecher is our latest winner in the OSCPA's series of 5 exam review course drawings offered to members this year. Becker furnished this prize with a value of $2,499, and this scholarship will have a deeply meaningful impact on Josh's journey towards becoming a CPA.

My name is Josh Sprecher. Born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon, I started my accounting path in Lincoln High School, where others recognized my inclination for the field early on, not just in skills but in my core principles as a person. To no one’s surprise, I went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Oregon.
Although it was a difficult journey, it’s just the beginning! I haven’t strayed from the course and I’m currently completing my final credits to become eligible to sit for the CPA exams. I am especially interested in tax accounting, drawn to the field by a genuine love for problem-solving and engaging with the unique stories behind the people and local businesses of my community while navigating the financial systems to support them.
As both a tutor and lifelong learner, I wholeheartedly believe anyone can learn anything with a curious, engaged mindset and the right tools. This Becker CPA Exam course is just that: the right tool, the right opportunity for me to propel myself through the last critical steps towards CPA licensure. Removing this major barrier brings me one step further to launch my career and serve my community.
