Noemí Green
Portland State University

Noemí Green is an Associate Records Compliance Analyst at Portland General Electric, where she supports vital records and information management. She will graduate in the winter term of 2026 from Portland State University as a first-generation college student, earning a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Minor in Mathematics. Following graduation, Noemí will prepare for the CPA exam with Gleim Exam Prep and plans to transition into an accounting role to sharpen her expertise further while preparing for her CPA.
Before enrolling in college, as an immigrant, Noemí diligently worked in the fast-food industry while earning her GED. She then moved on to temp agencies, where she encountered invaluable mentors who strongly encouraged her to pursue higher education. She is profoundly grateful for their guidance, noting, "Enrolling in college was the best decision of my life; it has been a slow process but very rewarding."
Outside her professional life, Noemí loves watching movies, anime, and TV shows with her husband and two children, enjoys puzzles, and loves spending summers at the river with friends and family. Noemí also finds joy in music, in exploring new skills, and in traveling to México to visit her family, where she always creates unforgettable memories.
Derek Dusome
University of Oregon

Derek Dusome is a Post-Baccalaureate Accounting student at the University of Oregon, with an expected graduation in Winter 2028. After earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Derek worked in the water and wastewater industry, developing a strong technical foundation that supports his transition into accounting. He aims to combine his analytical skill set with a deeper understanding of financial reporting, business operations, and decision making.
Derek has professional experience in both engineering and outside sales, where he supported customers through technical solutions and project coordination. This background strengthened his problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and communication skills, while providing real world exposure to how financial and operational decisions impact organizations.
Following completion of his accounting coursework, Derek plans to pursue a Master of Accounting at the University of Oregon and prepare for the CPA exam using Gleim Exam Prep. He looks forward to continuing to develop the accounting knowledge and professional competencies necessary for a successful career in the field.
Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Derek enjoys reading and playing ice hockey to stay active. He is grateful to the OSCPA for the opportunity to prepare for the CPA exam with Gleim Exam Prep as he takes the next step toward becoming a CPA.
