Cassandra Moreno is our latest winner in the OSCPA's series of 5 exam review course drawings offered to members this year. UWorld furnished this prize with a value of $3,899, and will be a valuable resource for Cassandra on her journey to becoming a CPA!
My name is Cassandra Moreno, and I grew up in Hood River, Oregon. I originally began my college journey at Columbia Gorge Community College, completing prerequisites for a dental hygiene program. After two years of coursework, I realized that dental hygiene was no longer the career path I wanted to pursue. I decided to transfer to Oregon State University, where I declared accounting as my major. After taking a class with an amazing professor who showed me the opportunities available in accounting, I realized this was a career I could truly see myself pursuing.
I am currently in my senior year at Oregon State University, finishing my remaining requirements, and I expect to become eligible to sit for the CPA exam in June 2027. I am particularly interested in pursuing a career in auditing. I also currently work as a student employee in Oregon State University's Billing and Receivables department, where I have gained valuable hands-on experience and developed a better understanding of financial processes.
As a first-generation college student, I am incredibly grateful to receive a free CPA exam review course from UWorld. Preparing for the CPA exam can be financially challenging, especially with the additional expenses that come with completing a college education. Receiving this opportunity helps ease that financial burden and allows me to focus more on preparing for the exam and reaching my career goals. I want to sincerely thank UWorld for providing this opportunity and for supporting students like me. I look forward to graduating, beginning my CPA exam preparation, and taking the next steps toward becoming a CPA!
