Developments in the Management Commentary and MD&A Narrative reporting is entering a new era-one that moves beyond compliance checklists to focus on cohesive, decision-useful communication. This seminar examines the evolution of corporate narrative reporting through the revised 2025 IFRS Practice Statement 1: Management Commentary and the U.S. GAAP-based MD&A under SEC Regulation S-K, with key comparisons to help practitioners understand how each framework supports investor-focused disclosure. Using real-world examples and excerpts from the actual annual report of an IFRS reporting company, this seminar highlights how the revised Management Commentary guidance aims to improve the quality, relevance, and connectivity of narrative insights. Participants will explore its emphasis on strategy, risks, sustainability factors (ESG), key performance indicators (KPIs), and the integration of financial and non-financial information. The session also analyzes the modernization efforts in U.S. MD&A, including principles-based guidance, reduction of boilerplate disclosures, and expanded expectations for entity-specific analysis and trend-based insights. Through a comparative approach, participants learn how both frameworks are converging around common principles: enhanced connectivity, balanced presentation, entity-specific content, and alignment of strategy, performance, risk, and value creation. This practical seminar provides accounting, finance, and business professionals with the knowledge needed for better understanding the management commentary and MD&A. Digital assets have moved from the fringes of tax administration into the core of IRS compliance and enforcement strategy. Practitioners today face a rapidly evolving landscape in which cryptocurrency transactions, digital wallets, exchanges, and blockchain activity present both unprecedented transparency and significant visibility gaps. This course provides a practitioner-level examination of how the IRS approaches digital asset compliance, where enforcement efforts are focused, and where reporting blind spots still exist. Drawing on firsthand experience inside the IRS, Trish Turner, former Head of Digital Assets at the Internal Revenue Service and now with CryptoTaxGirl, explains how digital asset data is identified, analyzed, and used in examinations, collections, and criminal investigations. Participants will explore how the IRS obtains digital asset information, including exchange reporting, summons activity, blockchain analytics, and third-party data sources. The course also addresses common compliance failures seen in audits, the practical limitations of current reporting regimes, and how visibility gaps affect risk assessment for both taxpayers and practitioners. Emphasis is placed on practical takeaways for tax professionals advising clients with digital asset exposure, including how to identify red flags, assess compliance risk, respond to IRS inquiries, and navigate evolving reporting obligations. This course is designed to help practitioners move beyond surface-level crypto rules and understand how enforcement actually works in practice. This event may be a rebroadcast of a live event and the instructor will be available to answer your questions during the event.

Organizations that execute a wise strategy succeed; others are executed in the market. Many organizations invest significant time in strategic planning but fall short when it comes to execution. According to McKinsey, most fail to properly execute their strategy. This session explores the critical transition from strategy to performance while challenging outdated planning models and myths. We often do not think of strategy in the same context of longer-term organizational projects like ERP transitions or risk management. Why should you consider “killing” your current plan and building a new plan centered around financial performance? We will dive into the reasons strategy fails, uncover the practical tools for bridging the planning-performance gap, and explore how strong financial integration enables strategy to succeed. We review insight into what works—and what must be stopped immediately. The author uses CocaCola as a baseline to communicate elements of strategy and incorporates funny videos to highlight key points.
