Steve Scranton

Steve is the Chief Economist for Washington Trust Bank and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation with over 40 years of investment and economic experience. 

In Steve's role as the Chief Economist for Washington Trust Bank he participates in public speaking engagements, as well as authoring multiple communications, to keep clients and the public informed on economic conditions. Throughout Idaho, Oregon and Washington, Steve is a well-known speaker on economic conditions.

There is often a disconnect between what is being reported for national economic data versus what is happening in Oregon. This session will examine what the national data is indicating and then review what the Oregon data is showing. Topics will include jobs, labor, wages, housing and Gross Domestic Product for the US and Oregon.

Amanda Hoey, CEO, Oregon Wheat Growers League

Amanda Hoey

Amanda is the Chief Executive Officer for the Oregon Wheat Commission (state commodity commission) and the Oregon Wheat Growers League (private growers association). She represents Oregon's wheat industry in local, state, national and international arenas.

Amanda previously served as the Executive Director for Mid-Columbia Economic Development District, a bi-state regional economic development entity supporting the Columbia Gorge region of Oregon and Washington.

Amanda graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Degree in Economics from Whitman College. She is an alumnus of the American Leadership Forum of Oregon and was a Marshall Memorial Fellow through the German Marshall Fund. She was raised and lives on a dryland wheat farm.

Paul is past president of the Farm Financial Standards Council and past chairperson of the AICPA Ag Conference.  He writes the "FarmCPA" column for Top Producer magazine along with their Top Producer Podcast and is also the primary author of the "FarmCPAReport.com" blog.  Paul is a nationally recognized speaker on many subjects related to farmers and processors including (1) tax planning, (2) estate tax and succession planning, (3) farm management accounting, (4) farm bill, (5) farm economics and many other related topics.

Nellie McAdams

Nellie grew up farming alongside her parents as the third generation on her family's Gaston, Oregon hazelnut farm.  She is an attorney and long-time advocate for farm succession planning and farmland preservation. As OAT's founding Executive Director, Nellie is dedicated to working together to keep Oregon a great place to farm and live.
