Overview
The term “artificial intelligence” (AI) has become mainstream and while most have a layperson understanding of AI, few know the depth and breadth of these technologies’ capabilities. AI is affecting just about everything in business and in people’s personal lives. The operation of an internal control system is also changing because of this incredible advance. This session explains what AI is and how it works and then goes into detail about how it can be applied to a system of internal control. The material speaks about changes occurring in today’s world as well as to what’s coming in the not too distant future.

Karl Egnatoff, CPA, CITP, began his career in public accounting by participating in audits of financial institutions, nonprofit organizations, governmental units and private sector companies. He is an inaugural graduate of the Certified Integration Developer (CID) curriculum developed by Microsoft and holds numerous technology certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Certified Software Engineer, (CSE). Karl has provided accounting and technology consulting and training for more than 16 years.
