- Choose Your Own Adventure*

Steven Fulmer, Speaker, Trainer, Coach, Author, Steven Fulmer Inc

Steven Fulmer

Steven Fulmer has over 30 years experience in business with his first entrepreneurial adventure at the age of 16 when he started a real estate photography business. By 35 he was a VP in a software company where he joined as the second hire and played an instrumental role in growing the business from $300,000/yr. to more than $10 Million.

Today he is passionate about developing tomorrow's personal and professional leaders. Steven believes that if we want a different result we must be willing to first take a different action. With the near epidemic proportions of unhappy employees, the need for personal and professional integration has never been more imminent. Note that he didn't say work/life balance; he believes such a thing is both impossible and undesirable for we spend a disproportionate amount of our time working. Instead the goal is to integrate all aspects of life so we thrive at our careers & our personal lives equally as well, where we aren't leaving a part of us behind as we spend our days at work wishing we where somewhere else... anywhere else; or trying to be home with our children while distracted by the things not getting done at work. Instead of  balance, it's the power of presence we seek.

Steven is a graduate of The Coaches Training Institute and past president International Coach Federation (ICF) Oregon, and is currently a member of the National Speaker's Association and the International Coach Federation.

(1/27/26)

You know those story books* where you make choices along the way that result in different endings for different readers? Well, here's a thought experiment: Are you actually choosing an adventure for your story, or that of your organization, or are you just cruising along on the highway missing all the adventure exits because you’re “making good time?"

Throughout our lives we learn countless models, strategies, assessments and tools, that in the end often lay dormant in our brains, or at best partially used. It’s not what we learn that makes us successful, it's what we implement. And for many, it's the obstacles to implementation that get in the way of that realized value of knowledge, not the knowledge itself.

It's the resistance one experiences when they go enthusiastically into implementation and get shut down by naysayers, self-talk, and obstacles - that's what makes change challenging and keeps us on the highway, because it’s safe and can feel productive. And yet, those very obstacles are your superpower; the stone that sharpens the arrowhead, the resistance that builds the muscle, if only you could harness it.

So, turn the page, grab an adventure and let's go there:

  • To uncover the Archer's secret to success in life & work.
  • To create a roadmap for overcoming the hurdles to implementing real change.
  • To cultivate a culture of psychological safety (not just for those around you, which is hugely important, but for you, the leader of self and others as well, because inviting growth and evolution is at times extremely scary).
  • To understand your primary objective and how to articulate it.
  • To determine if you even want input on your adventure (believe it or not, some leaders don't).

To choose your, or your organization’s, story with all the right players and write it into action.

Can you imagine what 12 months ahead would look like if between now and then you realized a return on more of the lifelong investments you made in learning? Mind-blowing, I would imagine.
