Cote and Latham Ethics in Action provides a comprehensive regulatory ethics update and incorporates an interactive, hands-on workshop to help participants develop a strategy to voice their values confidently and effectively when faced with an ethical challenge. Participants are introduced to an empowering framework that will help them voice concerns unique to their own strengths and personal values when encountering ethical workplace challenges. 

NOTE: This course meets the Oregon Board of Accountancy’s biennial four-hour Oregon-specific ethics requirement.

Jane Cote


Jane Cote, PhD, is Professor Emeritus at Washington State University Vancouver’s Carson College of Business. Nationally recognized for her curriculum development in the area of accounting, her research centers on workplace ethics, specifically helping employees create strategies to effectively address ethical challenges and navigate gray areas that arise in organizations. Cote is the recipient of the Athena Award for Leadership, the YWCA Woman of Achievement Award and the WSU Foundation Outstanding Service Award.


Claire Latham


Claire Kamm Latham, PhD, CPA, CFE, is an associate professor of accounting for the Washington State University Vancouver’s Carson College of Business. Latham conducts empirical and behavioral research involving ethics and the public accountant with a concentration on efforts to enhance ethics training of students and professional accountants. Latham has been honored with several Outstanding Faculty Teaching Awards, Student Business Organization’s Instructor of the Year Awards, the Woman of Distinction Award and was recently nominated for the American Accounting Association’s J. Michael and Mary Anne Cook Prize.
