Join Joe Maslott, CPA, from AICPA, and Oregon Board of Accountancy (BOA) representatives, Julie Nadeau, Licensing Manager, and Licesning Specialists Stacey Janes and Ashlie Rios, for this unique opportunity on the process of becoming a CPA in Oregon.

AICPA:
An overview of the Uniform CPA Examination.

Oregon Board of Accountancy:
Detailed presentation of the mechanics on the application process to take the Uniform CPA Examination in Oregon, how to become licensed, what the supervisor role is in signing off on a licensee's experience requirement and provide information about the Board.

Designed For

Students and CPA exam candidates that are interested in pursuing the CPA credential as well as CPAs responsible for signing off on experience requirements.

Objectives

Participants will learn about the Oregon Board of Accountancy (BOA), its application process to take the CPA exam, and licensure requirements. BOA will go over the experience requirements for new licensees and the responsibilities of CPAs who supervise and sign off on the experience requirements. AICPA will also discuss the Uniform CPA Examination.


Leaders

Stacey Janes

Stacey Janes was hired in May 2018 as a Licensing Specialist with the Oregon Board of Accountancy. She processes all exam and licensure applications for last names beginning with A-L. Stacey also handles all applications received by the Board for industry and government applicants that are reviewed by the Qualifications Committee. Before joining the Board, Stacey worked in private industry and is a licensed insurance agent. Stacey attended Boise State University, completing the Administrative Office Technology program in 2004. She looks forward to returning to college in the near future. (Rev 10/2018)

Joe Maslott

Joseph Maslott, CPA, CGMA, is the Senior Manager – Content Management with the AICPA Examinations team, located in Ewing, NJ, since 2006. Mr. Maslott has over fifteen years of accounting experience and began his career at PwC. He then joined AT&T World Headquarters and E*TRADE Financial in management positions in accounting. As a lead CPA on the AICPA Examinations team, he has served in various roles including Staff Liaison for the AUD subcommittee and business owner of Simulation Development and Multiple Choice Question process reengineering. Mr. Maslott lead the Exam’s practice analysis, a research project designed to document the scope of entry-level practice as well as serve as the foundation for the Exam's validity and legal defensibility. Mr. Maslott earned his BS in Accounting from Bowling Green State University in 1999.

Julie Nadeau

Julie Nadeau is the Licensing Manager for the Oregon Board of Accountancy and previously worked as a Licensing Specialist for the Board. Julie earned a Bachelors degree from Portland State University and plans to begin the MBA program at Willamette University in 2019. She has held an active insurance license with the State of Oregon since 2005. (Rev 10/2018)

Ashlie Rios

Ashlie Rios is the newest member of the Board of Accountancy team and was hired in October 2018 as a Licensing Specialist. She processes all exam and licensure applications for last names beginning with M-Z, as well as processing firm registration applications. Prior to working with the Board, Ashlie worked in licensing for another Oregon regulatory board. Ashlie earned her Associates Degree in Business Technology, as well as completing three additional business related certificate programs, from Chemeketa Community College in 2011. Ashlie was born and raised in Oregon and she is looking forward to working with all of our candidates, applicants and licensees. (Rev 10/2018)
