Outlook for the Future

In the next several years the accounting field is projected to grow 10 to 20%. Companies, government agencies, and institutions will continue to need qualified CPAs to manage, direct and guide their businesses.

Since 1985, the OSCPA Educational Foundation has awarded more than 600 scholarships in excess of $900,000 to Oregon’s talented students bound for a CPA career. The support these high school seniors and college students receive from the Foundation helps ensure qualified candidates will be available to meet the growing demand for the CPA profession.

Our Goal

The OSCPA Educational Foundation’s goal is to annually increase its pool of funds. The funds will be used to:

  • Increase the number of scholarships awarded to high-achieving high school seniors and college students pursuing a CPA career;
  • Raise the amounts of scholarships for college accounting students – now critical in light of the increasing costs of higher education; and
  • Offer scholarships that encourage candidates considering a career change to pursue an advanced education in accounting.

To activate this goal, The Foundation has partnered with the OSCPA Career Development Team to expose students to the accounting profession. The Foundation needs to be prepared to support a growing number of promising students with financial assistance.

How Your Contribution Will Help

The OSCPA Educational Foundation offers several ways to contribute:

General Fund Contributions

Scholarships are funded through the generous donations of individuals and businesses. Contributors may donate an amount towards current year scholarships based on the following categories:

  • Platinum $500 - $999
  • Gold $250 - $499
  • Silver $100 - $249
  • Bronze $50 - $99
  • Other up to $50

Named Fund Contributions ($1,000 or more)

Diamond donors have two contribution options:

  1. An initial contribution of $1,000 or more immediately funds a scholarship in the donor’s name.
  2. Alternatively, diamond donors can pledge $1,000 and pay the amount over a four-year period, with a minimum payment of $250 each year. The pledge, when paid in full, will fund a scholarship in the donor’s name.

Endowment Funds

Many contributors have established and funded endowments that help ensure the continued success of the scholarship program. A donor may establish a minimum $20,000 new endowment or contribute to an existing endowment.

Established Endowment Funds
  • Myron J. Fleck Endowment
  • James B. Gaffney Endowment
  • Robert L. Gantenbein Memorial Endowment
  • Randell C. Guyer & Son Endowment
  • Robert F. Isler Memorial Endowment
