The accounting profession in Oregon is represented on the legislative front by grassroots volunteer efforts at several levels. On a local level, from an OSCPA member who knows his or her state representative or senator and can explain or pass on information beneficial to the profession, to a member who serves on the OSCPA Legislative Policy Team, helping to analyze bills, prepare testimony, and even testify in front of legislative committees, if the need arises. On a federal level, OSCPA members may serve on the American Institute of CPAs Council, which governs the national association.
Advocacy on behalf of member CPAs is an important aspect of OSCPA membership.
